Porto is a lovely city to visit. It has a wide river, steep hills with good views and pretty, colourful houses, which are not all renovated although there is a lot of building work going on. And in the cathedral when we were there a rather good visiting choir was rehearsing.

Some nice quirky bits of street art – these are paving stones in Rua Miguel Bombarda.

We visited the the Fundação de Serralves museum of contemporary art, which was extremely enjoyable. It is in 3 well-integrated parts – a purpose built modern building and an art deco house both set in a very large park and garden which also contains sculpture as well as a farm. https://www.serralves.pt/en/
I particularly liked an installation by Olafur Eliasson with mirrors and curves that you could enter.

We took a train for a day trip up the river Douro to Pinhão, a centre for Port grapes.

The main point was the journey itself which follows the river for a lot of the way, providing gorgeous views.
